Counting Down to Half Moon Bay’s Release: Manteufel Books July Bulletin

By the power of professional editing, we’re in the home stretch for polishing Half Moon Bay and uploading my book baby for formatting! I enjoy editing when there’s a set of experienced eyes on my work, and I’ll be so happy to hold the finished product in my hands. That feeling never gets old.

This month, I’ll also be continuing to receive feedback from my artist regarding the accompanying character art, “The Sirens of Echo Trench.” A second artist will be starting siren-themed dark fantasy art for custom bookmarks. Provided that the printing goes well and ships without an issue, I plan to give away these bookmarks with each paperback purchase at my in-person events. Fingers crossed!

If you’re around the area, mark your calendars for Half Moon Bay’s debut at the Page and Palette in Fairhope, Alabama, September 6th from 1-3. It’s my first official bookshop signing and I couldn’t be more excited, or honored, to have it at such an amazing location. Fairhope is charming, artistic, and tasty, including my favorite sweet-tooth stop: Fairhope Chocolate and Bakery. I might accidentally visit it before my signing takes place. If I look a little puffy in the midsection, ya’ll will know why.

Princess Cirilla the Jumping Spider Update: So, she’s utterly obsessed with waxworms. She ate her first one last week – the ENTIRE thing – and her abdomen swelled up so much I got concerned. Afterwards, she wobbled her way into her hollow acorn house, built a very thick nest, and hasn’t budged from it since. I miss her little face! Hopefully she’s just molting and will be out soon.

Have a safe fourth of July, everyone!
